Artificial Grass Pitches held in high regard by some Football League Clubs - 18 November 2011
It has been widely reported today that some Football League Clubs would consider the re-introduction of the artificial grass pitch. Wycombe and Accrington have both voiced their interest, and although it would be some way off before this re-introduction could happen (as it would have to be voted for by all clubs) it just shows how far artificial grass has come since Preston and QPR were playing on it in the 80's before it was banned. The ban came into effect as it was thought that the artificial pitches led to more injuries and they weren't providing a high enough quality of playing surface so not providing for a good game of football. The technological advances in the development of artificial grass has led to it being held in a much higher regard today with some turfs being FIFA and UEFA approved and some of these technologies are even used in the domestic lawn turf that you may be considering for your garden!

Four year old Harley Noble from Bagillt, Flintshire suffers with a very rare form of cerebral palsy. His condition means that he is texture sensitive and just touching real grass makes him feel ill. As a lively four year old with a three year old sister, Lilly, to play with, this made going outside to play on the lawn an impossibility. Recently we got in touch with Harley's parents Christina Lace and Jonathon Noble and offered to install an artificial grass lawn at their home in Bagillt. Harley is now able to play outside on his new lawn without it making him feel ill.
